Can you tell us about your career journey at BurdaLuxury?
I’ve been a part of the Burda family for close to six years, and more than half of that has been at BurdaLuxury. My commitment in the years spent here – and I am counting on many more ahead – is a testament to how fulfilling my journey has been thus far. I’m grateful for all the opportunities that have come my way at BurdaLuxury and even after more than three years, my work evokes the same passion and drive I had on day one.
One of the biggest drivers of my motivation at BurdaLuxury is the culture of acknowledging sincere work in the form of rewards and recognitions. I’ve always believes in a learner’s mindset and feel proud of being able to learn and grow at BurdaLuxury both professionally and personally.
What’s the most exciting part of your job?
What isn’t! From setting up a team to streamlining daily activities, I’ve been consumed by the excitement at work every single day. One of the most fulfilling parts of my role are the opportunities I get to be able to ideate, innovate, and bring creative solutions to the table.
What’s a milestone that you’ve been proud of achieving?
I’m proud to have been promoted twice purely based on merit and commitment to my work. Apart from a pat on the back, the recognition has been very rewarding in building self-confidence and focus.
Another achievement etched nicely in my memory was to win the Best Team Player award back in 2022.
What inspired you to work in publishing/media?
Getting into the media mad house is probably my personal ‘Luck by Chance’ tale – I didn’t have it in my five-year plan when I was still that naïve graduate who imaged those plans ever come to fruit. I stepped foot into the media scene 18 years ago and have been hooked since – so much so that I can barely imagine an alternate career path now!
Apart from finding my calling in the industry, its volatility and fast-paced evolution has been very inspiring and keeps me knee-deep in. I have something new to look forward to every day, what more inspiration can one ask for.
Who was your biggest influence growing up?
This may sound cliché, but my parents have been the biggest influence in my life and have helped me become the person I am today. They moved to Delhi from a small town in Punjab and created a life full of comfort and happiness for my siblings and me. This has given me the strength to follow in their footsteps and give my best every single day – at work and otherwise.
